In the position of Commercial Manager of Exceptional Transport, you will evaluate requests as they come in. Because of your affinity for transportation and logistics, you quickly sense whether the application can be a success or not. You can quickly switch and communicate with the operational departments and are aware of what is going on in the organization. As a result, you seamlessly match the demand to what Westdijk Exceptioneel Transport has to offer.

Westdijk’s trucks travel throughout Europe. Therefore, it is important that you are well-versed in legislation and permits. Does a customer have a technical question? You have the answer! Your perceptiveness and commercial attitude allow you to have a good sense of how to bring in the customer and thus achieve results. Despite the volume of requests coming in, you make time for each customer. You are strong at building relationships and you build trust through your personal and professional approach.

Westdijk Exceptional Transport employs about 70 drivers. You will have a direct colleague and work with the director-owner. Your work will mainly take place at the office in Alphen aan de Rijn. But you are also in contact with your colleagues at Westdijk in Sweden and Great Britain.

Job Requirements Commercial Manager Exceptional Transport

• MBO+/HBO work and thinking level;
• Work experience within transportation in a similar position;
• Knowledge of international laws and regulations in transportation;
• English in word and writing, German and French is preferred;
• Accurate, decisive and commercial;
• solution-oriented, proactive and decisive.

Today, Westdijk Exceptional Transport has a modern fleet of 75 trucks and 150 trailers for special and heavy transport. The special and heavy transport department has a large selection of trailers, which makes it possible to offer a customized solution for every load; extendable flat trailers, semi low loaders with up to 10 ton axles, euro low loaders with pendulum axles, rail trailers and module trailers consisting of 90 axle lines. These can be fitted with tie rods and various interchangeable bed configurations, giving them the ability to create the perfect trailer combination up to a weight of 450 tons.

The company’s expansion coincided with the opening of offices in Sweden and the UK, giving them the opportunity for important support and access to waivers and local knowledge.
