Fleet and Engineering Manager

Process-oriented. Planned. People manager. As Manager of Fleet and Technology at van der Werff Logistics, you are ultimately responsible for the optimal deployment of all rolling stock and handling equipment. From the new workshop in Heerenveen, you will lead and direct the workshop manager and approximately 10 commercial vehicle mechanics.

The new workshop is fully equipped and also completely climate neutral. As Fleet and Engineering Manager , you will monitor the quality, safety and progress of the work performed inside and outside the workshop. You will procure and manage the inventory of tool parts, oil and lubricants. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and inspection of the premises’ workshop equipment and technical installations.

As Fleet and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the daily planning of maintenance and also coordinate strandings that occur on the road. You are the point of contact and ensure that processes run smoothly. When new rolling stock is to be purchased determine technical specifications. You relieve the director by doing the right preliminary work and decide along in the purchasing process based on commercial, economic and (environmental) technical developments. 
In order to get a good insight into all activities and processes, you prepare fleet reports regarding damage, repair, maintenance and consumption.
As Fleet and Engineering Manager, you will report directly to the Director.
