Manager of Workshops & Engineering

Cozy. Organized. Driven. As Manager of Workshops & Engineering, you recognize yourself in these qualities. You will be responsible for the optimal deployment of all the Koopman Logistics Group’s rolling stock. This means managing and facilitating the workshops in Nijkerk, Noordhorn and Neuenburg (DE). You will also be fully involved in the procurement and maintenance of the fleet and responsible for the complete fleet management of all operating companies for car transport and general cargo in the Netherlands and Germany. Currently, including trailers and trailers, that’s about 1,300 units.
You will lead a team of 25 full-time employees, including fleet managers and workshop chiefs. You are a service provider and advocate for the various operating companies and ensure a good and pleasant atmosphere within these workshops. 

As a people manager you know how to align productivity and efficiency, you take care of analyzing and optimizing processes. You have experience in monitoring results and budgets and analytically ensures cost control of the fleets. With your commercial attitude, you know how to procure vehicles, required parts and services at the best value for money.
You make choices on whether or not to outsource specific maintenance on truck or body and engage in price negotiations regarding maintenance and repair.
Finally, you will be responsible for preparing and monitoring the investment program. You are always working on optimizing service life and maintaining contact with suppliers. At the end of all processes, you take care of performing checks for correct invoicing, in accordance with agreements made between various stakeholders.
As Manager of Workshops and Engineering, you will report directly to the management.

Job Requirements Manager Workshops & Engineering

  • HBO working and thinking level, supplemented by professional training;
  • Technical knowledge in automotive, preferably in the truck and trailer industry;
  • leadership experience and you know how to build a relationship of trust with both mechanics and operating company directors;
  • A large dose of enthusiasm, with which you know how to motivate workplace employees;
  • Empathy, you can switch between various stakeholders;
  • A planned approach, focused on improvement;
  • A commercial attitude and purchasing experience, you are cost conscious.
