Workshop Manager

Location: Amsterdam — Volvo Truck Center

The rapidly growing Amsterdam branch currently employs 15 mechanics that you will lead. Given the growth potential of the branch, the ambition is to grow the number of mechanics. Together with the Foreman, you keep an eye on the planning and follow-up of the work and make adjustments where necessary. You will also ensure optimal quality, efficiency and labor productivity in the workshop. You will instruct and motivate staff and ensure the monitoring and recording of hours worked and work performed. 

In your role, you will work closely with the two Service Coordinators who are responsible for planning and work preparation, as well as with the Warehouse Manager who ensures that all required parts are in stock. In this dynamic position, no day is the same. You are a motivator by nature and enjoy the challenge of working with your team to ensure order, cleanliness, safety and environmental issues in and around the workplace. Accurately resolve questions related to workshop invoices and warranty and goodwill claims. The preparation and issuing of repair estimates / damage assessments and outsourcing of work is also part of your duties. Under the final responsibility of the branch manager you will contribute to the growth and continuity of the Amsterdam office.

  • HBO working level in technical direction
  • Extensive work experience in commercial vehicle technology  
  • Dynamic and Service-oriented work attitude, stress-resistant and customer-friendly
  • Commercial skills and problem solving ability
  • Manager who knows through and through and has the ability to build a cohesive team
